Community spirit shines at Little Aths

The Geoff Watt Track was warm with sunshine and community spirit on Saturday, hosting both Warragul Little Athletics' 2024 Coles Community Round and the annual Mindfull Kilometres event.
The track was busy, people were active and the community came together. Plenty of athletes dressed up in red and enjoyed the banana relays, cardboard cut outs and other dress ups. The canteen crew also dressed up, looking fantastic in their aprons

The athletics saw plenty of action, with many PBs and a number of new centre records achieved.
In the under 17 boys, Vinnie Grojsman has an impressive a javelin throw of 16.66 metres.
The under 17 girls saw Genevieve Dennis achieve a 1.33 metre jump in high jump. Also in the under 17 girls, Alexandra Aubrey set two PBs, with a javelin throw of 21.73 meters and a triple jump of 8.64 metres.
In the under 16 boys, Jeremy Baxter completed the 100m hurdles in 15.83 seconds. Brooklynn Wyatt in the under 13 girls had a very impressive discus throw of 33.01 metres, her third for the season.
Next Saturday is the 2024 Gippsland Country Region Relays at Casey Fields so a local athletics meeting will not be held.
