Two men were airlifted to Melbourne hospitals after two stabbings in Warragul.
Police said the incidents in Balharrie Crt yesterday and Centre Ave on Friday night were not linked.
In both cases, they believe the parties were known to each other.
Police said a person was in custody following yesterday's stabbing whilst investigations were ongoing for Friday night's incident.
"People shouldn't be alarmed," Warragul Police senior sergeant Peter Watson said. "It's very rare that it's random acts of violence; it's normally targeted."
A 29-year-old man from Warragul was airlifted to the Alfred Hospital after an altercation in Balharrie Crt at about 2.45am yesterday.
Police said the man was in a serious but stable condition after sustaining two stab wounds, one to his chest and another to his groin area.
Baw Baw CIU detectives confirmed a local youth was assisting with investigations.
A 64-year-old man Warragul man was airlifted to Royal Melbourne Hospital on Friday night in a critical but non-life threatening condition. Police said the man was stabbed during an altercation at a Centre Ave residential address at about 11.20pm.
It is alleged up to four people attended at the address, in a vehicle, and knocked on the door. A person opened the door and the group entered before removing property.
It is believed an altercation broke out in which the 64-year-old was stabbed.
Police said the man was bleeding heavily and conveyed to West Gippsland Hospital. He was then airlifted to Melbourne.
Police confirmed the man had been interviewed following an incident at the same address on Sunday, February 9 at 1.20pm.
In that incident, an altercation between two men in their 60s resulted in both sustaining knife wounds and being treated in hospital.
A 64-year-old had the top of a finger severed and suffered lacerations to a thumb. A second man, a 68-year-old man also from that address, suffered lacerations to his chin and a finger.
