A Drouin man was arrested after allegedly evading police in a stolen ute in Longwarry on Friday afternoon.
Police allege a stolen white Ford Ranger ute was driven erratically, evaded police and drove through multiple fences of a Koo wee rup-Longwarry Rd property at about 1pm.
They reported the ute became stuck after crashing into an irrigation channel.
After running a short distance, a 27-year-old Drouin man was arrested with assistance of the Air Wing, Baw Baw CIU and local police officers.
Police believe the ute was stolen from a Drouin property on Thursday.
The man was charged with theft of a motor vehicle, reckless conduct endangering life, failing to stop on police direction, possessing an imitation firearm and criminal damage.
He was remanded to appear at Latrobe Valley Magistrates' Court yesterday.
