School opens its doors to visitors

Students invited family and friends to tour Warragul North Primary School during a community open morning recently.
Like many schools, principal Jo Osler said there had been a lack of community engagement post COVID and the open day aimed to "bring the wall down" by inviting the community on-site.
Students were able to enjoy a wide range of activities, including stalls from local emergency services.
There also were scavenger hunts, dancing, basketball, karaoke, obstacle courses, food and a coffee van.
However, the most exciting aspect of the morning was students being encouraged to have a say on the future of the school, which currently educates 650 students.
Stemming from the school's new strategic plan, Ms Osler said families were also encouraged to vote on core values they would like to see implemented moving forwards.
Ms Osler said visitors were able to view plans or sites of various new outdoor play spaces across the school site, including quiet areas and an early learning playground.
