Chorale Christmas series
1 min read

The West Gippsland Chorale will present two cheery Christmas concerts at the Wesley of Warragul next month.
On Friday December 16 and Sunday December 18 the chorale members, led by Musical Director Nathan Byrne and accompanied by Chris Sim on piano, will perform a variety of festive songs - both traditional favourites and songs with an international flavour.
The chorale has been rehearsing weekly since Spring to ensure a high-quality concert series for audiences.
Musical Director Byrne is an experienced choral, classroom, and instrumental music teacher and is currently the Head of Performing Arts events at St Paul's Anglican Grammar School. He is also involved in community musical theatre in director and vocal coach roles.
Accompanist Sim has performed locally and in Melbourne for many years, completing her formal music education at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music. Chris teaches music theory and piano privately and accompanies both chamber and solo engagements.
Christmas is synonymous with Handel's oratorio 'Messiah', and these concerts feature several selections from the very famous work. Some traditional Christmas favourites will be featured, and many others.
The Chorale often supports young performers in the community and will be joined by Elizabeth and Camilla Parsons from the St Paul's Academy of Music program.
The concerts will be held Friday 16th of December at 8pm and Sunday the 18th of December at 2pm.
Tickets can be purchased from Need2Read in Warragul, at 25B Victoria Street, online via trybooking or at the door.
