Warragul Salvation Army has brightened the Christmas of more than 80 local families.
Following generous donations from the community, major Jenni Frost said volunteers got to work preparing 80 food hampers last Monday.
In addition, they received donated toys for 140 local children and teenagers.
Ms Frost said recipients were pre-determined through a screening process.
Due to cost of living pressures, Ms Frost said it sometimes only took one unexpected bill or hurdle for a family to reach a financial breaking point.
The food hampers will ensure 80 families in need have something special to eat and drink on Christmas Day.
With plentiful toy donations, parents were able to breathe a sigh of relief when selecting a special gift for their children to open on the big day.
