Labertouche Primary School was recently named Baw Baw Shire's 2023 Walk to School winners.
As part of VicHealth's Walk to School Week, council ran a Walk to School competition, encouraging local schools and kids to be active before and after school.
Four local schools shared in prizes valued at $1000.
Taking out first prize, Labertouche gained six KIDDO activity sessions valued at $600.
Trafalgar Primary School received a $400 sports activity pack for placing second, whilst Yarragon Primary School and Early Learning Centre gained a $200 arts and craft pack for taking out third.
A special mention was given to Neerim South Primary School, with more than 60 per cent of students active on their commute to school during the Friday of the campaign. The school also provided fruit for all students.
Council said the prizes were made possible via its family friendly budget.
