Our team - around your clubs
2 min read

Football and netball return across West Gippsland this weekend and our team is looking forward to delivering you all the news, results and photographs that matter each week.
This preview to season 2025 is an insight to where local clubs are at, their pre-season training and hopes for the year ahead.
Throughout the season, our coverage will continue every Tuesday in the Warragul and Drouin Gazette to include a comprehensive review of all the weekend's football and netball action across the Gippsland League, Ellinbank and District Football Netball League, West Gippsland Football Netball Competition and Mid Gippsland Football League.
In women's and youth girls football, we will be covering local teams in the Mornington Peninsula Football Netball and Female Football Gippsland leagues.
Junior boys and girls football will not be missed on Saturdays and Sundays in the Warragul and District Junior Football League and West Gippsland Junior Football Competition.
Weekly previews also will appear online on our website and via Facebook links.
We are proud of our extensive sports coverage delivered to our readers each week and want you to know who is behind the team that is bringing you the news and pictorial coverage.
Our football writers include Nicholas Duck covering Gippsland League and West Gippsland; and Davyd Reid covering Ellinbank and District league.
For netball, Emma Ballingall provides an Ellinbank and District summary and covers netball news across the leagues.
We also are very grateful to our league and club contributors who enable our football and netball coverage to be as extensive as it is.
Our photographic team includes Fearghus Browne (EDFNL); Amanda Emary (WGFNC and juniors); Jakub Fabijanski (EDFNL); and Craig Johnson (GL and MGFNL).
A much loved and popular weekly feature of our sports coverage is "Club Corner" which features the people behind the scenes of our clubs - the scorers, the trainers, the volunteers in the canteen, the supporters on the boundary, the kids kicking a footy at halftime. So please don't shy away from our photographers, because it's not just the players who make game day important.
Finally, your stories are our stories. So if there is something special happening at your club, maybe a milestone game or special theme weekend, let us know. Send us an email to sport@warragulgazette.com.au or editorial@warragulgazette.com.au so we can be at your game.
On behalf of the team at The Gazette, we wish all clubs, players, coaches, volunteers and supporters all the best for the season ahead.
