Ripplebrook Primary School took part in Schools Tree Day recently.
Schools Tree Day is celebrated on the last Friday of July each year and comes before National Tree Day on the last day of July - the largest community tree planting and nature care event in Australia.
Ripplebrook Primary received a grant for nine trees from Planet Ark, the organisation behind the important event.
The trees came from local business Dreamtime Nursery.
All 30 Ripplebrook students took part in the planting, and parents were invited to come to have a look at the new additions to the school's garden.
Principal Nigel Kilpatrick said the students were excited about getting involved.
"They do outdoor things on a regular basis...our environment here has a lot of trees," he said.
"These nine trees are actually replacing some of the trees that were cut down by an arborist because they were dying or dead."
More than 3000 schools participate in environmental activities on Schools Tree Day nationwide by planting trees or doing other activities like building a habitat for native wildlife.
Since 199626 million trees have been planted in honour of National Tree Day and School Tree Day.
