A place for reflection in school playground

Columba Primary School was presented with a new 'reflection chair' recently from the Community Bank Bunyip and District, in conjunction with the Bunyip Men's Shed.
The chair's purpose is for students to recognise their fellow students who feel left out or are struggling to find kids to play with. It also provides a safe place for like-minded students who may be less inclined to play in larger groups.
Community Bank Bunyip and District chair Barry Crees said the bank had worked with the school and men's shed in a collaborative approach to delivering the new chair and achieve the outcomes set out by the school.
"This project showcases what can be achieved when community groups come together for a common cause," he said.
"The Bunyip Men's Shed happily embraced the opportunity to design and construct the chair and understand the importance of what this will create at the school.
"Ultimately, the project is bringing older and younger members of the Bunyip community together to achieve an outcome that will be enjoyed by current and future generations of Columba students for many years to come. "
