Next week 35 young people will take to the stage at the West Gippsland Arts Centre to perform Aladdin Jr.
Warragul Youth Theatre is bringing the classic Disney tale to life, complete with impressive costumed and an interactive set.
Assistant director Kaley Ward said Aladdin is shaping up to be an impressive feat for WYT.
A whopping 60 children audition for roles in the show, and just 35 were cast ranging from 8 years old to 17.
"A lot of the older cast are great mentors," Kaley said on the cast dynamic.
But she added, "there are some very talented 10-year-olds."
Rehearsals started in November and halted for a few weeks over Christmas and the New Year, however, the cast members are ready to present a great show.
Kaley said there has been some fantastic voice work happening, and even some interesting acrobatics.
"It feels like a whole new calibre of shows."
The opportunity to learn has not just been extended to cast members, but to those behind the scenes as well. Flynn Francis, a youth theatre alumni have been working hard on a terrific set under the guidance of local talent Amy Robson.
Kaley said the set is very interactive and there are more set pieces than usual.
