Australian rock icons Southern Sons will hit the road next year, performing their biggest hits on their 35th Anniversary Tour.
The jam packed tour will include a performance at the West Gippsland Arts Centre on Friday, March 14.
Original members Jack Jones, Geoff Cain, and Peter 'Reggie' Bowman and new addition Pete Drummond will come together to deliver an unforgettable experience, featuring chart-topping classics including "Hold Me In Your Arms", "Heart in Danger," "Always & Ever" and many more.
Lead vocalist Jack Jones said the tour will take audiences on a journey back to the 1990s.
"We are not reinventing the wheel when it comes to Southern Sons," Jack said.
"For the most part, it's really just about being true to the music. We are intentionally taking people on a journey back to a particular time and place. People can expect to hear the hits, and there'll be a few little surprises along the way. For some people, they'll be getting the show they maybe never got to see, and others will hopefully get the show they've been looking forward to for maybe 35 years."
Jack said he was excited to get on the road with the band and perform their hits once more.
"I'm excited about it because it's still quite fresh for me, even after all these years, because I haven't been touring these songs," he said.
"I'm proud of everything I've done, but Southern Sons is where it all started for me. The band represents a remarkable time in my life."
"It's a real privilege to be able to get back with your mates and play these songs again."
Scheduled to perform in a mix of metropolitan and regional venues on the tour, Jack said he was looking forward to the regional stops and returning to Gippsland.
"I'm a country boy, I grew up in Traralgon," Jack said. "For me, (performing regionally) is always a bit of a return to something familiar. I always look forward to those gigs, the people are great and I always feel like we have some kind of synergy between us."
Jack music lovers of all ages to come along to the performance.
"Anyone who really enjoys good songs and good players should come," Jack said. "That's the sort of thing that the Sons was built on. If you're into that kind of thing, it's probably a gig you should come and check out."
The Southern Sons will perform their 35th Anniversary Tour at the West Gippsland Arts Centre on Friday March 14, 2025.
