Neerim District Secondary College held its first production for many years recently at Algie Hall, Neerim South.
Neerim South Primary School students were the first to see the show at a matinee performance while family and friends enjoyed the evening show.
Titled "Dr Who's Neerim Odyssey" the performance began with Doctor Who finding himself in a most unusual place – the grounds of Neerim District Secondary College. Fate had taken him there, as the Evil Daleks established a colony beneath the grounds of Neerim District Secondary College and were planning evil things for the human race.
The Daleks were up to no good again. They planned to steal all the beer from the local pub, convert it into ethanol and then use it to send newly 3D-printed spaceships to Mars where they intended to enslave all Earthlings. It was up to The Doctor to save everyone from this terrible destiny, he did, and good prevailed.
The production gave students a wonderful opportunity to learn and showcase new skills, including performing on stage, producing the set, working backstage and being a sound and lighting technician.
