As all eyes have been on the Olympic Games in Paris, viewers may have noticed one thing has been missing - the potato.
Thorpdale Primary School sought to rectify that last week with their own spud-themed version of the games with the 'Potato Olympics.'
Competing in house groups, students ran, threw and jumped into all sorts of potato-related activities including a spud toss, spud gymnastics and even a best dressed competition for their beloved taters.
To really get into the Olympic spirit an opening ceremony was held, complete with a homemade potato Olympic torch and flame that was carried around the school grounds before the real games began.
Thorpdale Primary School principal David Shields said the school was happy to break up their school work with events like the Potato Olympics.
"The school is so lucky to have staff who not only see the benefit of fun in a school day for students, but also the capacity to put an event like this together," he said.
"Our educational support staff especially rise to these occasions and make the school a great place to be for kids, whilst allowing teachers the space and time to do their jobs extremely well."
