Past students and families are invited to attend the 125th celebrations and reunion at Thorpdale Primary School this weekend.
Planning and organising has been underway for many months in preparation of the anniversary celebrations.
Thorpdale Primary School 2966, established in September 1889, will celebrate 125 years with a ‘Back to School’ on Sunday.
Hundreds of past students, staff and community members have accepted the invitation and are looking forward to a great day catching up with old friends.
A highlight of the day will be the opening of the time capsule, which was buried at the school centenary celebrations in 1989. The time capsule was lifted out of the ground last week and found to be in excellent condition.
All students who attended the school in 1989 made a contribution to the time capsule, which will be returned to them after its opening.
Thorpdale Primary School will be open for visitors from 10.30am on Sunday, with official proceedings starting at 1pm. Everyone with a past connection to the school is invited to attend.
