Cricket stars regale students
1 min read

St Joseph's Primary School in Warragul were treated to a special visit from the Melbourne Stars cricket club recently.
WBBL player Sophie Reid and BBL player Cam McClure were on hand to regale students with stories of how they went all the way from backyard cricket to the big time on the MCG.
The kids got their chance to question the players too, asking them about all sorts of things like who the best cricketer is to their favourite sledge.
One big topic of debate was just how tall McClure was, with answers ranging from five foot two all the way to 100 feet (the final answer being six foot nine).
The visit was a part of a region-wide tour by the Stars, who are looking to engage young kids with cricket and get them active.
Reid said getting out to schools like St Joseph's had been "so much fun."
"All the schools in Gippsland have been awesome. They've been so excited, great energy, lots of really fun questions and they all get involved," she said.
Reid added that it was important to keep kids fit and active, and that cricket was a great way to do so.
"Cricket's a sport for everyone and want to promote that love for the game and get as many young girls and boys playing it."
