St Ita’s Primary School annual fete

Everything aligns  for successful fete

Fine weather - “as good as we could have asked for,” principal Andrew Osler said - almost 4000 people coming through the gates during the day and a profit of about $26,000 made for another outstandingly successful Drouin St Ita’s primary school fete.

Held last Sunday week, the fete organised by the schools’ parents and friends association and headed by event co-ordinator Rose Atherton attracted people from throughout the district.

It’s not just a school fete, Mr Osler said, pointing to how the event in its 14th year reaches out into the wider community with many of those that attended not linked to the parish or school communities.

There was an army of helpers organising and staffing the many stalls, activities and competitions; from live music, cakes and Devonshire teas, face painting and craft stalls to dodgem cars, a giant slide, ferris wheel, blow up train, pony rides and much more.
