1 min read

Warragul and District Netball Association (WDNA) held their 52nd AGM on October 13.

For the first time in the association’s history the meeting was held online using a Zoom platform.

President Karen Romano thanked the outgoing committee members Vanessa Barry, Karen Dellar and Kasey Dalton for their service to the association. Each of the ladies work full-time and have still managed to set aside time to make a valuable contribution to the WDNA community.

Karen Dellar’s outstanding service was acknowledged during the meeting with the presentation of Life Membership, the association’s highest achievement award. This award recognises Karen’s outstanding service to the WDNA netball community.

Karen joined the WDNA executive committee in 2015 as secretary and has continued in this role for a period of five years.

She has also been an active member of both the Aztecs and Warranor netball clubs. In her years of service Karen has demonstrated a passion and commitment to community netball. The WDNA congratulated Karen on her achievements during the meeting.

A new committee has been elected for the 2020/21 season. Karen Romano will continue her sixth term as president and is supported by a dedicated Executive: Vice President Lyn Versteden, Secretary/Registration Officer Rob Birks, Assistant Secretary/Registration Officer Keryn Cunningham, Treasurer (acting) Sandy Hill, Umpire Coordinator Sophie Cook, NetSetGo Coordinator Eliza Romano, Squad Team Coordinator Eliza Romano, Canteen Supervisor Melanie Young, Communication Officer Bek McLean, COVID Officer Taylah Cunningham and General Committee members Rebekah Bryce, Chelsea Ambrose, Jaime Awty, Karen Thompson and Donna Davidson.

The twilight netball season got underway last night at Burke Street.
