Warragul win premiership

Holding the midweek division four premiership, Warragul bowlers celebrated a great finish to the season.
The club had both divisions four and six travelling to Newborough to fight it out in Tuesday's grand finals.
Both divisions had extremely strong seasons, with division six finishing top of the ladder and division four finishing in second place, below Longwarry who were undefeated across the season.
In both divisions, Warragul won the semi-finals, which put them straight into the grand final.
It was a very successful midweek season, with two out of three divisions playing in grand finals. The club congratulates all players.
Division four: Warragul (2) defeated Longwarry 57/56
Warragul saved its best for last, defeating the previously undefeated Longwarry in both the semi and grand finals.
Tuesday featured another tight tussle, with Warragul winning by only one shot.
All games with Longwarry have been very competitive and played in good spirit, including this grand final.
Ian Belling, Lyn Morrison, David Ferguson and Paul Simmons (skip) defeated Trevor Kitchin's team 23/17.
Paul's team started with a five on the first end. Longwarry scored on six of the next seven ends and scores were level on end 16. Warragul got it back together, winning six of the last seven ends, including a five.
Matt Draisma, Tony Wynd, Gary Ingley and David Gatewood (skip) defeated Craig Cousin's team 21/15.
David's team shot out the gate and was 11/1 by end six. They maintained this lead to the final end.
Heather Baker, Bernie McIntosh, Glynis Mitchell and Greg Mitchell (skip) lost to Jason Lieshout's team 13/24.
Sitting at six-all after seven ends, Longwarry took control of the match and scored multiple ends, including a five. This match was the last to finish and it all came down to the last bowl.
To take it to a tie break, Longwarry needed to score two shots on the final end. However, Warragul was able to put a bowl in the head to just give Longwarry the one shot. There were certainly a lot of fingers and toes crossed by Warragul when Jason bowled his last bowl.
Division six: Warragul (3) lost to Churchill (2) 38/28
Mike Cousens, Chris Wilkins, Bill Clark and Gabrielle Draisma (skip) drew 18/18.
This match was even all the way through, with Gabrielle's team scoring a one on the final end to draw with Bruce McLure's team.
Bob Harris, Wes Newton, Gary Allen and Roy Hammond (skip) lost 10/20.
Roy's team had a tough day on the green against David Moir's team and unfortunately couldn't keep in touch with the opposition.
