Warragul Bowling Club held its B grade championship finals on Sunday in ideal weather conditions, and with a good crowd of spectators in attendance.
The men's final was between Bernie McIntosh and Daniel Sheehan, while the women's final was between Heather Baker and Bianca Sheehan.
The first five ends of the men's event were shared with both players on four shots. The next two ends saw Daniel get two threes to race to a 10/4 lead.
Bernie got one then Daniel got another three to lead 13/5. Bernie hit back with one and three to trail by four.
Daniel got two ones on the next two ends with Bernie saving both times, but then Daniel got the maximum four to take a commanding 19/9 lead.
Bernie got one and three, Daniel got two, then Bernie got the maximum four to bridge the gap to 17/21.
The next end saw Daniel get three to be one off winning the match, then Bernie got three to go to 20/24.
In a tense last end Daniel narrowly got the shot to take the title 25/20.
The women's final was a closely contested affair in the first third of the game with both players on six shots after nine ends.
But against the pattern of the game Heather won the next five ends to lead 13/6. Not to be outdone Bianca won four of the next five ends to trail 11/15.
Heather had a purple patch over the next six ends, getting nine shots to one to go to 24/12. Bianca got three singles on the next three ends to keep herself in the game, but Heather got the shot she needed on the 28th end to win 25/15.
