Whilst many in round one found it tough to find rhythm at the crease in their first hit for the season, Neerim District's Jack Ward delivered a stunning salvo at the top of the order against Yarragon to put the Stags in a commanding position before play was called off.
Despite losing opening partner Rhys George early on – the talented opener having his stumps disturbed by Jake Green – Ward wasted little time in sending out a stark reminder of his ability to division two bowlers.
