Undermanned Warragul fight their way into thirds grand final

It's official: Warragul's under 18s are going to a grand final.
The Gulls defied the odds over the weekend, playing with just 17 players for the whole game and yet still managing to overcome Maffra in a thrilling contest 6.7 (43) to 5.8 (38).
Warragul, who have relied on under 16s players to fill their squad all year, earned the right to play in the second semi final after winning a last gasp nail biter against Drouin last week. And incredibly, they once again proved their ability to win the close ones as they weathered a late Eagles surge, including a shot after the siren that fell short of scoring.
