Two big wins for Gulls

Warragul's top two grades got the job done at Maffra on Saturday.
A grade: Warragul 65 defeated Maffra 44

With another great shooting display by Emma Ryde, the Gulls were able to come away with a 20-goal win.
The team definitely missed defender Ella Rees this week. However, with some awesome defensive pressure by Renee Nobelius, Alex Cole, Lily Sheehan, Pippa Cook and Mackenzie Minichiello, the girls were able to build each quarter.
Awards: Renee Nobelius, Sienna Green and Jaime Rollinson.
B grade: Warragul 70 defeated Maffra 36
The Gulls displayed a strong start, securing the lead early on and maintaining it throughout the game.
Despite their dominance, the team remained committed to refining their skills and addressing weaknesses for the coming weeks.
Each player contributed to the team's success, playing as a collective while utilising each player's strengths.
Awards: Zoe Ryde, Ashlyn Gallasch and Ella Gaul.
C grade: Warragul 25 lost to Maffra 42
This was expected to be a tough game for Warragul, facing Maffra who sit comfortably up in the top five. The Gulls also had multiple players out.
A strong first half of netball, with plenty of defensive turnovers and accurate goaling, saw the Gulls trailing by just two goals going into the third quarter.
Unfortunately, the girls just couldn't put out a full four quarter performance and slipped away in the third quarter, proving too much of a gap to close in the fourth.
It will be exciting to see what the girls can do next week with a full strength team.
Awards: Charli Hendrikse, Bella Hefford and Sophie Fennel.
17 and under: Warragul 26 lost to Maffra 39
Maffra won in a very good game of netball from both sides.
The Gulls were very competitive and were only four goals down during the third quarter.
However, a little lapse in concentration showed in the score at the end of the game.
Keep up the great work as the wins will come.
Awards: Stella Kittelty, Brooke Cahill and Dom Potter.
15 and under: Warragul 23 lost to Maffra 44
The team worked hard, putting into practice what they are learning and building on this week.
Congratulations to Isabelle Nash and Rharni Cooper who played their 50th game for the Gulls.
Awards: Finlay Heenan was best on court. Finlay played a solid game, made great leads and was always being an option.
Awards also went to Rharni Cooper and Isabelle Nash who were valuable in the midcourt and defence.
13 and under: Warragul 4 lost to Maffra 54
The Gulls showed fantastic improvement from the previous week.
Ida Blackwood played her first game. Her excitement and positivity was certainly contagious amongst the team.
It was great to have the Hodge and Blackwood sisters all playing together.
The club is very proud of the team work and kind attitudes this team displays.
Awards: Charli Hodge, Bella Senini, Tilly Hodge and Ida Blackwood.
A special mention to Billie Gray for her first game in goals, with the team and crowd all celebrating when her goal went in.
