Trafalgar decides tennis champions

Trafalgar Tennis Club held its annual club championships on Sunday for both senior and junior players.
The championships delivered some fun and entertaining tennis for participants and spectators as 11 senior players and 11 junior players vied for the top prizes.
Juniors played a round robin competition for each section, then a knock-out competition to sort out overall boy and girl champions.
Ollie Stephenson won the section five medal, James Bryant won the section four medal and Josh Hearne won the section two medal.
Shailah Middleton took out the girls championship honours for the first time, while Josh Hearne took out the boys championship honours for the first time over a very competitive field.
In the men's championship, there were eight competitors on the day as Luke Bryant took the honours, beating Colin Maney in the final.
The women's championship was won by Siena Rikken, beating Amy Chaplain in a close final. This was Siena's first time at winning the championship event.
Players at both junior and senior levels demonstrated a high standard of skill, stamina, friendly rivalry and good sportsmanship. The club acknowledged committee members and parents for assisting on the day and supporting all the competitors.
