Titans turn the tables

by Samuel Laffy
Garfield-Tynong (202) def. Jindivick (76)
In their two previous encounters this season, Jindivick demonstrated that they had a clear edge over Garfield-Tynong, having dismissed the Titans for 51 in round 5 and for just 41 in round 10, with the Jumping Jacks recording emphatic wins in each.

However, with a one-day flag on the line, Garfield-Tynong handed Jindivick a taste of their own medicine, romping to a 126-run win.
On the back of a number of sterling knocks from Phill Young (who was typically explosive in his innings of 40), Tate Burgmann (who oozed class in his 44), and Aaron Braaksma (41), the Titans posted an intimidating target of 202.
Andrew Pyle (3/22) again gave a lion-hearted display, whilst Rechana Bon, Rod Huma, and Matt Cheshire each snared two scalps.
Needing a positive start to avoid the required run rate creeping up, the Jumping Jacks then delivered one of their worst performances of the summer, with Billy Anile (3/15) and Hayden Porter (4/19) running riot.
None of the top eight batters were able to make it to double figures, and with the scoreboard reading 7/20 an almost historic loss was on the cards.
However, Rory Payne (23) and Robert Wind (18) added some sense of respectability to the innings, carrying Jindivick through to 76 before they were dismissed in the 26th over.
