Titans total Jumping Jacks in division five

by Samuel Laffy
Jindivick (108) def. by Garfield-Tynong (6/237)

Jindivick might have held the advantage as far as ladder position is concerned prior to the start of their clash, but the Jumping Jacks were handed a 128-run walloping at the hands of Garfield-Tynong that threatened their spot in the division five top four.

The confines of Warragul Regional College were no match for the ability of Vijay Kumar (52*) and Daniel Mitchell (52*), with the duo striking rambunctious half-centuries that propelled the Titans to 6/236 from their 40 overs – Russell Vincent (4/39) the only bowler to have an influence.
In reply, Tobias Hart struck 25 and Gracie Sanders provided a positive glimpse into the future with a wonderful 35*, but there was precious else to celebrate for Jindivick as they were bundled out for 108.
Trafalgar (1/158) def. Yarragon (144)
Trafalgar proved far too good for Yarragon in the WDCA division five version of the Waterloo Cup, with the Ships claiming an emphatic nine-wicket win over the Panthers.
On the back of brilliant half-centuries from Chameera Vithnage and Jason Eastham – knocks filled with boisterous boundary hitting – Yarragon made their way to what many might have thought was a competitive total.
That was before Darren Brown's fifth wicket put an end to proceedings, dismissed for 144 in the 27th over.
However, Anthony Faltum (27) and John Asmussen (a stunning 55*) quickly set about chasing down the target, and Brendan Faltum (26*) and Brent Claridge (34*) applied the finishing touches as the Ships reached victory in just the 24th over.
