Division 2
The final week of division two action saw the top side lose their seemingly impregnable win streak, setting the scene for a big week of semi finals.
Garfield-Tynong v Iona
On a crazy final day of division two cricket around the WDCA, Iona lost their unbeaten season at Tynong on the weekend.
Needing 218 for victory, the resurgent Titans were on-song early as the top order delivered, with young Jake Van Den Berghe (78) standing up to produce a knock beyond his years.
He was ably supported by Matt Dodman (36), Michael Modaffari (24) and Chris Denipitiya (21) as the home side were seemingly to safety at 2-165.
Then, suddenly, the minor premiers came storming back into the game as Liam Lenders (4-67) finally received reward from his marathon spell, tearing through the middle order to leave Garfield reeling at 7-199.
With other results not going their way, the Titans needed to steer themselves home to lock in a top three spot.
They successfully leant on Tate Burgmann (19*) and Will Pickering (13*) to see them home with four overs and three wickets to spare as both teams now look forward to an all-important fortnight.
