Support for Jasmine
1 min read

Warragul's Jasmine Ferguson enjoyed her own personal cheer squad during Sunday's AFLW grand final as a number of locals made their way to Melbourne to cheer on the Kangaroos defender.
The former Ellinbank netballer turned AFLW star had an army of family and friends in the Ikon Park crowd donning the royal blue and white and with number 20 proudly on their backs.
While Ferguson and her North Melbourne teammates suffered a heartbreaking 4.3 (27) to 7.2 (44) loss in the decider to Brisbane, she still had reason to smile as her fans made plenty of noise from the sidelines.
Several intercept marks on the last line of defence gained the biggest cheers from her supporters, who included a strong contingent of players from Ellinbank Football Netball Club.
A sportswoman of multiple talents, Ferguson won numerous netball premierships with the Eagles while also playing basketball as well.
She took up football for Gippsland Power in 2018 before being drafted by North Melbourne and making her professional debut in 2022.
Ferguson was named in the initial All-Australian squad for this season, but was ultimately not selected.
But it's now onwards and upwards for the 24-year-old, who will no doubt be keen for her Kangaroos to go one better next year.
