The West Gippsland Strikers have battled through hot conditions to secure a hard-fought 4–2 win in round two over Latrobe Valley Hockey Association.
The home win at Bellbird Park has seen them begin their Men's Vic League 3 campaign with two straight wins.
After trailing 1–2 at half time, the Strikers responded strongly in the second half to regain control of the game.
Art Pozzebon delivered a solid performance in his 50th game, while Matt Zurrer continued his strong form, finishing with all four goals.
Jordan Oellermann and Michael Vorster were reliable through the midfield, working hard both ways to help shift the momentum.
Liam Watts also stepped up in goals for his first Strikers game, providing strong support at the back.
