Bunyip's big day didn't quite go to plan on Saturday as Garfield rained on their parade, handing the Bulldogs yet another loss despite the best efforts of former AFL superstars Isaac Smith and Shane Mumford.
Seeking their first win since August 2022 and with a bumper crowd of more than 1500 in attendance it wasn't to be for the Bulldogs, who also brought in former Essendon player Michael Ross.
The Stars were happy to play the pantomime villain for the day, kicking six goals straight across the second and third quarters to send their bitter rivals packing 6.8 (44) to 3.7 (25) in a rather dour contest.
Stoppages dominated the day as the deck of the Bunyip Recreation Reserve proved hard to get a footing on for most of the match.
