Jindivick (0/76) def. Buln Buln (9/74)
Jess Sanders' outstanding five-wicket haul helped Jindivick to a 10-wicket win over Buln Buln in their division four clash, with the youthful Lyrebirds line-up unable to counter the unerring line-and-length of the Jumping Jacks' seamer.
William McKerrow (15), Charlie Kilmartin (13), and Charlie Lindau (10) all made positive impressions at the top of the order, but once they departed there was little resistance from the rest of the line-up, with Sanders (5/12 from 8) inducing endless mistakes from the batters and proving nigh on unplayable.
Her haul saw Buln bundled out for just 74, and the Jumping Jacks opening combination of Tobias Hart (25*) and Rod Huma (43*) wasted little time in sealing victory. They took just 13.2 overs to reach 0/76.
The emphatic victory sees Jindivick jump to the top of the division four table.
Garfield-Tynong (7/174) drew with Western Park (6/90)
Whilst most in the WDCA were able to avoid the weekend's thunderstorms, Garfield-Tynong and Western Park were forced to abandon their contest – much to the chagrin of the Titans, who were in a dominant position when a draw was declared.
In pursuit of 7/174, the Warriors had found themselves struggling to score against some parsimonious spells from Phill Young (1/16 off 8) and Glenn Miller (2/7 from 6).
And with Jack Salan (2/8) troubling the Western Park middle order the required run rate rapidly increased.
With just seven overs remaining in the day's play the scoreboard read 6/90. Garfield-Tynong were doing their level best to rush through the overs, but ultimately intervention from the weather gods saw the points shared.
Earlier in the day, Jack Salan (23), Phill Young (a rapid 26) and Darren Van Den Berghe (a hard-hitting 45) helped the Titans post an intimidating total.
However in the end their efforts were no match for the heavy downpour.
Iona (7/253) def. Hallora (90)
Richard Hobson wasted little time establishing himself as one to watch for Iona in division four, striking an unbeaten century in his debut for the Swamp Tigers and helping his side to a massive 163-run win over Hallora in the process.
Taking advantage of an attack that tired in the trying conditions, Hobson's aggressive intent meant that bowlers frequently strayed from their ideal line-and-length, and his ability to belt the ball to the boundary saw the score rise rapidly.
Craig Lenders (38) and Ed Walker (35) provided valuable support for Hobson (who retired on 102*) as Iona romped to 7/253 from their 40 overs.
In reply, Chris Youngman (17) and David Miller (22) briefly threatened to take the game up to the Swamp Tigers, but once they departed the rest of the line-up crumbled under pressure.
Jason Siegel (4/18 from 6) and Troy Ross (3/29 off 7) took full advantage with ball in hand as the Kangaroos were dismissed for just 90 in the 28th over.
