Rain ruins cricket opening round

The wintry blast that hit Gippsland on Saturday put paid to any hopes those in the Warragul and District Cricket Association had of reaching results in round one.
However, the limited time spent on the field nonetheless gave local players – and a host of international recruits – the chance to blow out some of the off-season's cobwebs.
Certainly, fingers will be crossed for a more favourable forecast next weekend, but the action provided a brief preview of which clubs – and players – are ready to have an impact on season 2024/25.
