Racing will be coming to Woolamai this Saturday with the $10,000 Woolamai Cup.
The cup will be run as the 5th race with other exciting activities rounding out a big day for the club.
The Victorian Wakeful club will again award a $250 prize for the best presented horse and strapper in the cup field.
The club is expecting a strong field for the cup with a number of Balnarring Cup runners likely to contest the event.
Local trainer and well known track curator Mal Watts and his wife, who had third placegetter in the Balnarring Cup in the nine-year-old See It All, are likely to be keen contenders in the cup as well as for the Wakeful award.
The Woolamai version of fashions on the field with its formal and novelty categories is always a hit with patrons and last year attracted entrants in their finery from as far as Griffith NSW.
Gates open at the Trew Rd course at 11am with the first at around 1:30pm and the last around 4:45pm. Book online via the club's website or just roll up.
