The first week of Saturday pennant finals was played in cold, wet and windy conditions on Saturday.
Despite the weather, Neerim District's top team won to progress to the preliminary final.
However, the club's division six players had a loss which ends their season.
Division two: Neerim District defeated Traralgon (2) 102/62
Welcoming Traralgon to Neerim, the home team relished the conditions in an impressive 40-shot win.
Rink of the day was that of Russell John Meehan, Gregg Chapple, Angus McGillivray and Neil Adams who had a 24-shot win over their opponents, 32/8.
Division two will now play top of the ladder Moe in the preliminary final on the neutral green of Traralgon.
Division six: Neerim District (3) lost to Newborough (4) 28/43
Neerim travelled to Newborough and, after being down early, fought back to take the lead before a stop for heavy rain. It was one of a number of interruptions.
Once the home team wrestled back the lead, they were never headed again.
The best Neerim rink was that of Glenn Joyner, Linda Chapple, Maureen Halligan and Trevor Kuhnell who fell short by six shots.
After four forfeits and a washout, the club congratulated this division six side on making finals and being competitive. Added to that, it was the first final for a number of players.
Midweek
The 14th and final round of midweek pennant was played on Tuesday.
Division two: Neerim District lost to Drouin (2) 48/70
Played at Drouin, the home team were too good on the day, winning two rinks to one.
The best Neerim rink was that of Graeme Wingrove, Mel Neil, Gregg Chapple and Julie Adams who won 23/18.
Division two finished in fifth place on the ladder, with seven wins and seven losses.
The club thanked selectors Chris Hogan, Karren Sheers and Pat Aurisch and wished Drouin good luck in finals.
Division six: Neerim District (2) lost to Traralgon RSL (3) 37/39
Travelling to Traralgon, Neerim fell just two shots short of victory but still remained in the top four.
The best Neerim rink was that Linda Chapple, Richard Kerr, Maureen Halligan and Joe Marino who won 27/15.
This result earnt Neerim two rink points, placing them on equal points with Traralgon RSL after 14 rounds.
It all came down to percentage, with Neerim's superior percentage putting them into today's first semi-final against Traralgon.
