Thorpdale football stalwart Keith Pickering was inducted into the Mid Gippsland Football Netball League's Hall of Fame at the season's launch last week.
League representative David Balfour outlined an enormous contribution to the Thorpdale Football Netball Club over the past 50 years that led to Mr Pickering's nomination for the honour by the league's executive.
Now a co-president of the joint football and netball club there are few, if any, things Mr Pickering hasn't done for his club - from playing, off field roles in executive positions and on the committee, a delegate to the league and as the proverbial "somebody" that does the bits and pieces around a club that most people think just happen.
It all started when he began playing with the thirds team as a 16 year old, progressing to the senior grades and totalling up 344 games including including 72 in the senior team.
At times he played seniors and reserves on the same day, won the club's reserves best and fairest, runner-up in the league reserves award and a reserves' premiership player.
Nor has Mr Pickering rested on his laurels after being awarded life membership at the Thorpdale club 32 years ago.
He has remained on the committee every year since he first joined it in 1993, serving eight years as president, 10 years as vice-president, 14 on the general committee and three years as the social club president.
And there has been virtually no task around the club that Mr Pickering has not turned his hand to.
He spent 20 years as the club's reserve grade umpire, has been a boundary umpire, water boy, runner, junior coach, timekeeper and manned the canteen, bar and gate.
Mowing the ground and surrounds, marking the lines on the ground, cleaning up after games, putting out the rubbish bins, rolling up the sleeves at working bees to improve the ground and clubrooms and playing a key role in fundraising including the annual cattle purchases and sales were a few of the other essentials around the club Mr Pickering has attended to.
