Gippsland League reveals fixture

Warragul and Drouin football netball clubs have both been drawn away for the kick-off of the Gippsland League's 2025 season.

For Drouin, games at its Sinclair St ground are unlikely for a substantial part, if not all, of the season as the ground is redeveloped.
Round one on April 5 pits Warragul against Wonthaggi at Wonthaggi while Drouin will be away to Morwell.
Opening round highlights will be a replay of last season's grand final between Traralgon and Leongatha to be played at Traralgon and a traditional season opener between neighbours Sale and Maffra on Sunday, April 6.
The other clash to start the season will be Bairnsdale at home to Moe.
In netball, a rematch of the A grade grand final between Moe and Warragul will not be until round eight, June 7 on the King's Birthday weekend, a date requested of the league by the Moe club.
That weekend will again feature the 'Big Freeze' motor neurone disease fundraisers run by the Bairnsdale and Moe clubs.
The season will include two byes - at Easter and in the July school holidays - and a split round spread across May 24 and 31.
The 18 round home-and-away fixture leads into the final series starting on August 30 with the grand final on September 20.
Locations of Drouin's home games are still under negotiation with leagues and clubs with several options in play.
Grounds for football teams training will be flexible at a number of sites in or near Drouin while the netballers will train on their game courts at the recreation reserve where the oval development does not impact on access to their courts and change rooms.
The netball sides will play Gippsland League home games where the football teams play.
Warragul and Drouin players and supporters will have to wait until the halfway mark of the season - round nine on Sunday, June 15 - for the first of their traditional Western Derbies.
The return clash, scheduled to be played at Drouin, will be during the final round leading into the finals.
