Little master visits Hill End Football Netball Club

Saturday saw Hill End Football Netball Club host one of the AFL’s greatest ever players, Gary Ablett jnr.

Ablett jnr, who recently retired after 357 games, two premierships and two Brownlow medals, spoke to the crowd of 110 people at the clubrooms before the senior game against Mirboo North.

He touched on his career and journey through the AFL, before answering questions and posing for photos with those in attendance.

More than $10,000 was raised in a charity auction for Ablett’s chosen charity the Royal Children’s Hospital. Ablett also took the time to chat with the reserves squad after their match, posing for a photo post game with the squad.

Ablett jnr greeted the senior captains of both sides out in the middle also, tossing the coin before the game, one that saw Hill End keep their winning streak alive with a hard fought 37 point win.
