Hallora (1/107) def. Trafalgar (105)
As has been the case all summer, Hallora looked a class above their opponents in the division three one-day final, with the Kangaroos notching a nine-wicket win over Trafalgar that barely saw them move out of first gear.
The depth of their bowling is perhaps the most challenging aspect for teams to overcome facing Hallora, and whilst the Ships applied themselves early in the piece – with Mitchell Claridge (24) and Zak Larkin (19) adding 43 for the first wicket – there was no let-up in pressure from the change bowlers, and the Trafalgan middle and lower order struggled to exert any influence.
Dilpreet Singh's golden summer continued, snaring 3/11 from his eight, and Ed Lemmon (2/30) and Tom Williams (2/11) reaped the benefits of the discipline shown by their teammates.
Only Oliver Hennessy (who struck an excellent 37) was able to counterattack, as Trafalgar were dismissed for 105 in the 39th over.
And whilst the Ships attack has also shown that they are capable of causing headaches for opposition, on Sunday they found it nigh on impossible to restrict scoring.
Brayden Hunter (32), Daniel Reiner (a boundary-laden 47*), and Brett Watkins (18*) all looked unhurried and unfussed at the crease, helping the Kangaroos seal victory in the 24th over.
