The event, which took place in Perth, saw the best school-age athletes from around the country come together to test their skills.
James, who was representing Victoria in the event, set a personal best of 50.45 seconds to achieve the feat, taking out the competition in style.
Fellow Warragul local Zaria Dalton also competed, making the final of the under 14 100m and setting her own personal best of 12.87 seconds.
Both qualified thanks to strong performances at the Victorian All School Track and Field Championships in Melbourne last month.
