Gulls defeat Tigers

Warragul netballers secured three wins in the heat at Western Park on Saturday.
A grade: Warragul 64 defeated Morwell 49
The Gulls had a slow start to the match on Saturday.
The first half saw some uncharacteristic mistakes by the girls, which Morwell took advantage of.
After coming together at half-time, the Gulls looked like a new team. The defensive end provided plenty of ball for the attackers, who then began to seamlessly connect well with the goalers.
Although the heat was intense, the girls managed to keep their foot on the pedal to pull away by 15 goals.
Awards: Sienna Green, Jade Finn and Naomi Allardyce.
B grade: Warragul 38 lost to Morwell 42
Warragul showed strong improvement despite narrowly going down to Morwell.
Ellen Croft was pivotal in defence, consistently picking up multiple gains in each quarter and applying relentless pressure throughout the match.
The game also marked the B grade debut of Audrey Simpson who brought great confidence and composure to the court, making an immediate impact.
With a full team available post-Easter and improved on-court connections, the group is building momentum and well-placed to secure their first win of the season.
Awards: Ellen Croft, Ella Gaul and Brooke Cahill.
C grade: Warragul 18 lost to Morwell 45
It was a hot day on the court, with lots of rolling sub rotations used to create some fresh legs.
Despite the heat, the Gulls gave it their all, with plenty of defensive pressure allowing the defenders opportunities to get hands to balls.
The attacking end worked hard to implement court plays and create movement for the goalers in the ring. It was a well played game by all.
Awards: Ellie Beechey-Danvers and Grace Armour.

In warm conditions, the Gulls built on their winning performance from the previous week with an exciting eight-goal win against a tough opponent.
The girls were made to work hard but their team play and ability to maintain consistency under pressure ultimately saw them come away with the win.
Mischa Moore was pivotal in the midcourt, whilst Philipa Earwicker and Oliva Barr continually provided pressure in the goal ring, connecting well in defence.

Warragul came out firing in the first quarter and were quite unstoppable all over the court.
Morwell lifted in the second and their defensive pressure made it a lot more difficult for Warragul's goalers to score.
As the weather warmed up, so too did the Gulls with their strength and competitiveness shining through. They secured some great intercepts and defensive turnovers all over the court to hold on for another great win. All players had a great game.
Awards: Sapphire Pratt, Tiffy Walsh and Piper Wilson.
13 and under: Warragul 6 lost to Morwell 32
