Almost 190 junior basketball teams from across Gippsland converged on West Gippsland for the annual Warragul Tournament on the weekend.
Hosted by the Warragul District Amateur Basketball Association, Gippsland teams travelled from as far as Phillip Island to Orbost. They were joined by a handful of teams from the Southern Peninsula and even a border towns side.
More than 1500 basketballers competed in 420 games in under 10 to under 19 age groups. Games were spread across six venues and 14 courts at Warragul, Drouin, Neerim South, Bunyip and Newborough.
Warragul Warriors were well represented across all divisions at its home event, winning the under 14A girls, under 16A boys and under 12C boys.
The Warriors were also runner-up in the under 12A boys, under 14A boys, under 14B boys, under 16B boys, under 12B girls and under 19 girls.
Poowong Panthers also had teams take part, winning the under 16C boys grand final.
