Rodeo lovers are preparing for an exciting day of action when the Bunyip Rodeo returns on February 15.
To be held at the Bunyip Recreation Reserve is set to showcase the excitement of bull riding and other horse rodeo events with live music, food trucks and a carnival to cater to all tastes.
With close to 100 riders expected to compete, the day promises to deliver non-stop action as both professionals and some enthusiastic amateurs compete.
The Bunyip Rodeo attracted close to 4000 visitors last year and it is hoped the 2025 event will be even bigger.
Bunyip Rodeo president Allan Wright is thrilled about the ninth running of the event and is looking forward to welcoming both familiar faces and newcomers.
"We're excited to bring the rodeo back for another year and hope to see a fantastic turnout," Alan said.
"It's a great day out for all ages and we have a number of other activities such as live music, food trucks, a bucking bull and a carnival for the kids."
The Bunyip Rodeo is a not for profit event and funds raised are invested back into the community to sporting clubs and other organisations such as the Variety Club Bash.
"We managed to raise $70,000 last year," Alan said. "And in the event's nine years we have raised over $350 000 which all goes back into the community."
The event is run by a committee of nine people and on the day close to 200 volunteers are involved.
"We are lucky to have a great band of volunteers as the crowds seem to be getting bigger each year," Alan said.
Tickets are available at Eventbrite and interested riders can register at www.rodeoservices.com.au right up until the event.
