The finals of the Warragul Bowling Club men's and women's singles championships were played on Sunday.
The men's event saw John Vickerman against Terry Sullivan, while in the women's final it was Lyn Morrison versus Gaye Renn.
Gaye got off to a good start with one and three, before Lyn got four on the third end to level the scores. The see-saw battle continued over the next five ends to see them at eight-all.
They each got three ones over the next six ends to again see the scores level at 11-all. The next five ends were either twos or threes, with Gaye getting eight to Lyn's four to lead 19/15.
Gaye got one and two on the next two ends to lead 22/15, before Lyn got two to go to 17. Gaye closed the match out with one and three to win 26/17.
This was Gaye's third club championship in a row.
In the men's final, John got off to a nice start with three singles. Against the run of play, Terry won the next six ends with one, three, one, one, two and three to lead 11/3.
John won the next two ends with two and two, to take the score to 7/11. However,Terry dominated the rest of the game with one of the best displays of draw bowling seen at the club for many years.
He won the last eight ends with one, one, one, three, one, one, four and two to win 25/7.
This was Terry's second club championship at Warragul.
