Warragul Bowling Club held its first tournament for the year recently with an open triples.
Teams and players came from Drouin, Morwell, Clayton, Neerim District, San Remo, Ferntree Gully, Corinella, Morwell, Avenel, Newborough, Mirboo North, Karingal, Narre Warren, Pakenham, Cardinia Waters and Warragul.
In all, 75 players enjoyed a great day with three games of 12 ends of two bowl triples.
Winners on the day were the Warragul/Neerim District team of Greg Mitchell (skip), Roger Till and Lester Mason with three wins and 21 shots up.
Runners-up were the Warragul team of Lynne Thomas (skip), Des Stephens and David Ferguson with three wins and 16 shots up.
Third place went to another Warragul team of David Smith (skip), Gaye Renn and Ron Renn with three wins and 15 shots up.
Best game went to the Newborough/Mirboo North team of Wayne Arnold (skip), Andrew Soplakow and Lisa Arnold with +16.
