Drouin secured wins in all three senior grades at home against Wonthaggi on Saturday.
A grade: Drouin 64 defeated Wonthaggi 37
The brilliant Hawks bounced back with a convincing win over Wonthaggi.
The girls built the lead each quarter through full team defence, repeated efforts and accountability.
Karina Healy's work rate was outstanding all game, putting up some brilliant long range shots. Karina and April shared the goaling nearly equally, with 33 and 31.
Kym Diston set the standard in defence, playing fiercely and owning the rebounds. She was supported by Lucy McKellar and her full court drives and Kelly McMillan's athleticism up and down the court.
The Hawks are now looking forward to another full game effort next week against Sale.

B grade: Drouin 58 defeated Wonthaggi 54
The Hawks' brilliant blend of youth and experience proved a dominant mix.
The girls showed a great mix of composure in key moments with speed and risk taking. They let the ball fly down the court and hunted the ball in defence.
Sarah Roughead caused havoc in defence with Chelsea DeRiter. They connected well with Ruby Pritchett to drive the ball out of defence.
Ruby Pratt and Jodie Proctor connected well in the attack end, especially in the centre pass, and fed the ball beautifully into Brooke DeRiter.

C grade: Drouin 57 defeated Wonthaggi 30
It is a good feeling when the game is over and the coach can't decide who to give the award to. It shows a strong game plan that was well executed.
From the first whistle, the Hawks were out to show their skills, with full court pressure, accurate goaling and hands over everything.
Fitness was crucial in the final quarter to keep the scoreboard ticking up.
Darcy Appleby used her drive to get the ball out of defence and was integral in the full court pressure. Also in defence, Jess Murray worked hard to keep her player out of the ring.
In attack, Tess Mapleson showed her versatility and movement all over the third and was still able to score accurately.

17 and under: Drouin 25 lost to Wonthaggi 39
This was a close physical game right up until the last whistle.
The team worked hard all game and applied a lot of pressure all over the court.
Jaz Norton covered her player beautifully, getting lots of hands to the ball. Rachael Turner also played a great game on a tall goaler, attacking the ball and rebounding well.
Kaylee Nalder had her work cut out for her on a very physical player but showed her strength and created lots of space in attack.
It was great to see lots of improvement from the last time the teams played.

15 and under: Drouin 35 lost to Wonthaggi 43
This was a great game between two fairly even teams. the Hawks showed their improvement from when they lost by 20 goals in round five.
Wonthaggi got out to a good start and Drouin had to slowly claw that lead back during the second half.
Isabelle Maloney showed her clever use of speed and strength throughout the whole game in the goal ring, holding strong and working hard.
At the other end of the court, Leilani Lightowler was dominant in defence and, together with her fellow defenders, applied pressure wherever possible.

13 and under: Drouin 37 lost to Wonthaggi 41
The girls faced a tough match right from the first whistle.
Power came out firing and let the Hawks know it was going to be a battle all game. Although unable to take the lead throughout the match, the Hawks had great patches of play, showed fight and displayed teamwork.
Sophie Maloney in goa keeper kept her team in the game, getting turnover after turnover.
In goal shooter, Chloe Gargan made the most of these opportunities with her smart movement and goaling.
The girls had a great comeback in the last quarter and got within three goals, but couldn't quite come away with the win.
