A girls only basketball camp is coming to Warragul next month.
The one-day camp, "Country Girls Got Game", aims to create an environment where girls can engage and thrive in basketball.
Held at the Warragul Leisure Centre, it is designed for girls aged seven to 16-years-old who are eager to develop basketball skills, form lasting friendships and be part of a supportive community.
The three-hour session on Wednesday, January 22 will be provided by expert female coaches.
The new concept is being run by Warragul District Amateur Basketball Association in conjunction with the Warragul Warriors.
It follows hot on the heels of a Warragul Warriors' women's team being named Gippsland CBL champions.
"Country Girls Got Game" organiser Lara Parker says the inaugural program aims to create an environment where girls can thrive both as athletes and individuals, while building a love for the game of basketball.
With each session capped at 40 girls, Ms Parker said the high-quality camp offers expert coaching from female coaches and mentors who not only teach the game but also serve as role models, encouraging participants to embrace their strength, leadership and potential both on and off the court.
The cost to attend is $30 per participant.
