Garfield had only one winning side this week.
Division two: Garfield lost to Morwell Club 60/84
Hosting the side from Morwell Club, Garfield had losses on all rinks for an overall 24-shot loss.
The team of Graeme Burton, John O'Shea, Bob Lamport and skip Shane Oliver lost 17/18.
Shane's team was eight shots behind at the halfway point. However, they made a concerted comeback in the second half to lose by just one shot.
Steve Bassed's team, consisting of Ron Saunders, Geoff Pumphrey and Les Pumphrey, lost 13/22.
Also trailing at half-time, Steve's team failed to make the same revival in a nine-shot loss.
The team consisting of Lexi Taylor, Cheryl Breteler, Gary Helmore and skip Richard Ross lost 10/23.
Richard's team started with two shots on the first end. However, their opponents overcame that on the second end and weren't headed for the rest of the game, inflicting a 13-shot loss.
Alan White skipped the team consisting of Roger Worden, Henry Breteler and Joe Lenders who lost 20/21.
Alan's team opened a six-shot lead and maintained this at the halfway point. When the visitors scored two fives in three ends, they took the lead for the first time in the game.
The home team made a valiant effort to peg back the shortage but ended up one-shot short.
This loss leaves Garfield in seventh place on the ladder.
Division five: Garfield (2) lost to Morwell Club (2) 42/65
Playing on Morwell Club's notoriously difficult grass green, Garfield came home with all rinks down.
The team of Frank Prins, Brad Fowler, Helene Newton and skip Gwen Fabris lost 11/26.
Gwen's team kept with their opponents at the beginning, sitting at 4/4 after five ends. However, from there, the home team ran away. Garfield finished with a 15-shot loss.
The team skipped by Brian Fox and consisting of Rick Sillett, Annette O'Shea and Luke Monckton lost 16/20.
Garfield took the game to the home team, up 15/11 after 14 ends. However, they only scored one more time in the game, to lose by four shots.
Jasmine O'Shea skipped the team of Ken Place, Gordon Moxey and Len Preece who lost 15/19.
Jasmine's team played a very tight game, with scores tied twice during its course. However, their opponents made the better of the last stretch and Garfield lost by four shots at the final tape.
The see-saw on the ladder continues, with Garfield back down to seventh this week.
Midweek
Garfield won two rinks when hosting Traralgon RSL on Tuesday.
Division four: Garfield defeated Traralgon RSL (2) 62/52
The team skipped by Gwen Fabris and consisting of Keith Cook, Maureen Lamport and Bob Lamport won 24/18.
Gwen's team was on the rollercoaster - up, then down, then up again. Scores were level at seven-all, then 16-all. But, Garfield turned it on at the end, winning by six shots.
Gerry Fuller's team, consisting of Annette O'Shea, Cheryl Breteler and Trevor Peters, won 23/13.
Gerry's team streaked out to a 6/1 start, and stayed that way. They finished up with a good 10-shot win.
The team of John O'Shea, Lexi Taylor and Helene Newton, skipped by Malcolm Newham, lost 15/21.
Down by 10 shots after six ends, Malcolm's team made a last ditch comeback. However, it wasn't a good day, and they went down by six shots.
Overall, it was a good result for the side as it attempts to improve its ladder position.
