Ellinbank unveiled new orange dresses, Trafalgar solidifed fourth spot and front runners Neerim South and Nilma Darnum had big wins in A grade on Saturday.
The Eagles celebrated its annual Fragile X awareness round in style, with a high scoring 78-33 win over Longwarry in wet and slippery conditions.
Supported by the Crows with orange hair ribbons, the Ellinbank A grade team unveiled new orange dresses for the special day to complement orange bibs and socks.
And, they stormed out of the gates to shut down the improving Crows early, before extending the margin throughout.
Neighbouring rivals Trafalgar and Poowong always looked to be match of the round, and delivered. Both vying for finals, a win was vital for their respective causes.
The Bloods had a perfect start, shooting the opening five goals on their way to a 13-8 opening quarter.
The second quarter was even, before Yarragon fought back to trail by just a couple of goals late in the third. However, a few goals by Trafalgar in the closing minutes saw a four-goal margin at the last break.
Whilst the Panthers never went away, the Bloods kept the margin out on the way to a 41-35 win.
Nilma Darnum proved too strong for Poowong, with the Bomber defence hard to break through. In the end, the score was 50-18.
Similarly, Neerim South didn't let Catani get on the attack in the wet, winning 43-15.
Next week's games: Catani v Ellinbank, Nilma Darnum v Neerim South, Lang Lang v Poowong and Longwarry v Buln Buln. Byes: Yarragon and Trafalgar.
