After finishing the croquet pennant season on top of the West Gippsland section Drouin went on to play in the grand final.
This was held at Morwell on a neutral ground against the winners of the East Gippsland section, the Lakes Entrance number one team.
The Drouin team of Ray Biffin, Heather Lees, Adrian Savage and Kelvin Marriott didn't get off to the best star after being caught up in a traffic accident at Moe.
Unfortunately this meant the team was an hour late arriving and had to rush onto the court to start play.
The match itself didn't begin well for Drouin as they lost the first round of singles 3/1.
Drouin went on to lost the day eight games to six to a very strong Lakes Entrance side.
The team has already expressed they are looking forward to next year's competition as they look for a better result.
