Disappointing day for Gulls

Warragul had a difficult day at Drouin, going down in the local derby.
A grade: Warragul 48 lost to Drouin 50
Drouin certainly came out to play, winning the first half 25-14.

To the Warragul girls' credit, they didn't give up and were able to turn this around during the third quarter. They won it 16-11.
Unfortunately, Drouin came out winners by two goals.
Warragul will need to work on playing four quarters of netball and clean up their unforced errors to be contenders at the end of the season.

B grade: Warragul 50 lost to Drouin 56
The Gulls girls put up a good fight against one of the top teams, maintaining a very competitive game throughout.
Naomi Allardyce played a killer name, not only with her consistent movement in the attacking end and creating opportunities into the ring, but applying amazing defensive pressure throughout the midcourt.
Mackenzi Minichiello once again didn't disappoint, shutting down their attacking end and working the ball down the court with Ella Gaul.

C grade: Warragul 31 lost to Drouin 51
Warragul had a fantastic first quarter, with scores even.
Drouin took the lead by half-time and, despite the Gulls' efforts, they weren't able to catch up.
Goal attack Sophie Fennell was awarded best on. Sophie's goals, movements and passes over the court were exceptional.
In defence, Lucy Williamson added brilliant pressure, earning her an award.
The final award went to Charli Hendrikse. Charli's determination, speed and skills were an absolute standout.
Honourable mention goes to Cara Gavin for her brilliant talk on court. Her ongoing encouragement and support are truly inspiring.
17 and under: Warragul 21 lost to Drouin 52
Drouin won in a very good game of netball from both sides.
For Warragul, the girls played a great game with great intensity from everyone,
Watching the game showed a different game to the scoreboard.

15 and under: Warragul 28 lost to Drouin 44
The Gulls were welcomed to Drouin for the annual Indigenous Round.
The team played a competitive game but, unfortunately, the margin widened in the end.
Awards went to Finlay Heenan for her valuable contribution in defence. Also to Audrey Simpson for her intercepts and work in goals and Stella Lobby who played a solid game in the midcourt.
13 and under: Warragul 13 lost to Drouin 35
The Gulls thanked Drouin for a fantastic game and invitation to celebrate Indigenous Round.
The Gulls were outstanding, demonstrating exceptional teamwork and skill.
Best on court went to Billie Gray. Billie's defensive pressure was excellent, taking countless interceptions throughout the game.
Other award winners were Charli Hodge for her speedy attacking work, Alysa Sheehan for incredible defensive pressure and Eveyln Blackwood for her leads and determination.
